Looking for a 19” ‘96-ish hardtail.  I currently ride my original s [9-six] .3 as a commuter (was into it for the color, teeth are bleeding but I’m determined); would love to get what I lusted for in college and just couldn’t schwinng.

Denver area but shoot me a pm with any prospects if you come across any!

Good luck in your search. They are out there. Here is my 01 Limited I bought as an NOS frame. I run with 650b wheels and all XTR except brakes which are Avid XO.

That's a beautiful machine! When I was a teenager this was my dream bike. I had a poster of it hanging in my bedroom. I couldn't afford it so I ended up with a Moab 1 Disc. I still have the bike. I work at a bike shop and to this day the Homegrown Limited is still my dream bike all these years later.

My son still has his Moab Disc, but it is an 2000 model and he has to run an adapter on the rear.  Orange/white head tube with a white Fox fork and white avid juicy brakes. It's a sharp bike and rides nice.

I've been looking around for components to swap onto my 19" '96 s96 .3, ideally off of a Homegrown.  I just want to keep my original frame.

I found this local, supposedly a 17".  It has a Fox fork, wondering if it's worthwhile?  Not sure of year of this "homegrown".

From seller:

"I am selling my schwinn Homegrown Mtn Bike. It is in really great condition. It has been professionally powder coated and well taken care of. It is an old bike, but one of the originals! The frame was actually built by yeti for schwinn. Its a great classic bike. It has Xt components avid brakes. New Schwalbe tires."

Thoughts?

9 speed XT is cool, and the Fox fork is nice. Depends on what the guy is asking.

Thx for quick response! I got him to $300. Will those components transfer to a 19"? Both are 26".

It's worth $300. I don't  know much about  your frame. The seat post id 26.8mm on the Homegrown, the steerer tube is 1 1/8" on the fork. The front derailleur is 31.8mm clamp. I would imagine the rear derailleur and crankset should work. Probably need  new cables.

Thanks, Jeff.  I'll do some research and take measurements this afternoon.

What year do you think that bike might be?

Unsure what model Homegrown since it has been powder coated. But that fork goes for $150-$200, and you probably could sell the frame for $150, but it is definitely a Homegrown with the tomato on the rear drop out.

Well, I’ve been trying to start a new post with my history to Homegrown and why I’m and so attached to my frame, but have been getting an error.  Anyway, here’s where we’re at, hopefully will submit
