New Toy '99 HG URT FS

Well,   I was perusing Ebay again and found this:

Had a buy it now price of $260, which I was willing to pay, but decided to bid instead. Got it for quite a bit less. Planning on building another Single Speed, but one that doesn’t beat me up quite as bad on the rough stuff.

Saw that on the popular auction site and almost bid. Post pics when you complete your build.

Well that was quick. I went home for lunch and while I was there, the FedEx truck came bearing gifts. I totally forgot this has the Hayes 22mm Disc mount on the URT. I’m stoked. I need to give it a good cleaning. I may even polish the rear triangle. Now, if I could find a full set of decals for it.

The rear disc triangle is a plus.Rich Adams has some decals for that listed on a popular auction site right now.I bought 2 sets of them and they are exact. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schwinn-Homegrown-Hardtail-Decals-/172313129695?hash=item281ea9b2df:g:6e0AAOSwrklVFHUN

You’re right. I didn’t think that was the correct set, because it’s listed for a hardtail.

Okay, next question… What's the best technique for removing what remains of the existing decals? Heat? Goof off? I want to get it all off as clean as possible, so I can polish before I go back with a new decal set.

I usually use a blow dryer to heat them and peel them off, followed by goof off to remove the glue residue, then rubbing alcohol. Polishing up the paint is a good idea before applying the new decals. I usually do any paint touch up before applying the decals. Good luck

That’s the direction I was leaning, so I thank you sir, for confirming.
