BB lengths

So here is a fun one.... I bought a 98 HG and a 2000 HG.  I just upgraded the 2000 HG bottom bracket and crank to the new Shimano Hallowtech 2 versions.  I mistakingly tried to put the BB i pulled out of the 2000 HG into the 1998.  Little was I aware that the BB spindle/cup length were different on these two models.  The 1998 uses a 73*118, where as my 2000 HG uses a 68*118.  I just ordered a new BB online today, but was curious to know if anyone else has had a similar issue with this?

Also, I have 2 more HG's I'm looking to sell/trade.  I'm looking for a Bass Boat Green HG in good condition.  Frame or Frame and Fork.  Willing to buy or trade up for it if possible.

Thanks,

S.

All three are 17inch frames...  http://www.flickr.com/photos/54946327@N00/

The BB blue is a full XTR - 8 speed.

The BB Red is a partial XT - 8 speed. I am in the process of upgrading to 9 speed.

The black is a mix of LX/XT.

Yes, I am...  17 inch frame.  I have tried the 19 inch frames and they are too big, a little to far out to handle comformatbly.
