Quick question for the forum. Is anyone able to sell their adapter? I am having my frame re painted and would like to see if I can get an adapter to be painted with the frame. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys, I'm getting into this party now - working on conversion to adventure bike.
What is the bolt thread pitch of the rear disk frame mount for a '99? - I got M6-1.0s x 15mm and the thread pitch seems different.
I need to start with that, I will also most likely be interested in a flat mount but I will save that for a bit.
My bike came with a Rock Shox Duke Race fork and I just got a disk mount setup 29" for the front. I have 40c Bokken tire on the way - it should just barely fit. If I can get disk mounted on the rear I'm keeping this as a flat-bar (I have a drop bar gravel bike). I will consider bigger options but I dig the wide reartire/mullet for the death cookie rocks that are present in every local trail.
I would also be interested in a flat mount adapter. I have the A2Z red adapter now but we will see how that goes - It did not work with my frame, hence I need a flat mount if there is another set to be made. In the meantime I will most likely get a set of Paul motos so I can run my other road wheels or build a 650B.
Update: 12/9/2022:
I got a 700x40c Bokken and it just fit with an inner tube but tubeless it rubbed. So I got a 36c setup tubeless on the front today. It clears by about 4mm and only rubs a tad when bottomed out. I'm calling the front sorted for now and moving back toward getting the rear setup for disk now. This is my first time riding 700 in dirt, first time riding disk brakes (even if they are cable pull), and first time riding tubeless. Learned a lot in the process.
G'day, in a previous post you indicated a drawing of the adapter can be provided. It would be appreciated if you could please share a copy of the drawing. I'll also work on making the adapter locally. Thanks for you help and keeping old bike relevant.
Hi. Any chance anyone still has one of these adapters for sale? Also, which shimano brake caliper is used with this adapter? I see it pictured in this thread, but no model name/number. Thanks! -Tom
I changed the size off the bolt holes and made small adjustments to fit perfectly on my bike. unfortunately I can't share the files here as this forum doesn't allow this to be uploaded. But you can easily draw it yourself.

Hi! I like your design! Could you provide to positions of the holes on your drawing? see attached sketch.
Is the plate 1/4'' (6.35mm) thick?
What caliper are you using? what about rotor size?
See drawing with additional dimensions. I have a Magura flatmount which is standard flatmount 34mm. and using 160mm rotor. I used a 3d-printer and made different designs and ended up with 7mm thick plate and positioned the slotted holes to minimum size and dimensions for aesthetic reasons.
Greetings everyone. This thread was super helpful in upgrading my 97 Obed that was custom fitted with a Hayes 22mm mount to a modern flat mount. I had a local fab shop make one of the adapters from this thread.
Thanks everyone who contributed here. Based on 737driver's dimensions, I made a few adjustments and uploaded a 3D version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6219703
(The price is just the printing cost, I didn't add any markup).
I placed my own Shapeways order today, so I can't say how well this works out on the trail, but the plastic prototype seems to fit just fine. Clearance to the seatstay is really tight (this is with a 2002 Klein Attitude, frame size small, and a BR-M8110).

Hi, also interested in this adapter. Are you able to share the .stl file in order to have one locally machined here?
Thank you

What's the thickness of this adapter?
@bikeric: can you send the printing file? I am located in Germany...
Are these availbale to purchase?

This is the drawing I made for my Klein Attitude Comp.
Edit; correct dimensions and final design
Wow, that is amazing thank you for posting this !

This is perfect actually as eBay sell 6"x6"x1/4" aluminum plates that this can be made from.

Thank you very much!
I finally got round to building up my old spooky pitboss.
Loving it! Thanks again Eric for your fabulous engineering and for taking the time to make and ship these things. Great work.

If you'd like a simple way to buy it, the file is also on shapeways: https://www.shapeways.com/product/YW267MDJH/hayes-22mm-to-flat-mount-bra...
