I see HV5131 number on my 1999 frame- what does that tell me?
I was wondering what your orriginal color of the frame was and if it's a black and gold frame. The reason I ask is because I have HV4114. It is a 1998 factory xt (blue and silver)... 7005 tubing. I recently stripped it and had it repowdered...RED. I have confirmed the elite tubing by looking at the tube marks (stampings). I believe the "HV" to be a yeti code. I'm assuming your bicycle must be a "factory" or a "team factory" other homegrowns started with "96", "97", "98". If you can post some pics of the rest of your bike, including the bottom yoke that would be great! Thanks!
yes it is gold black, my pics on on the 1999 forum with my photobucket pictures. Take a look to confirm. Certainly a factory team bike from the catalog pics.
I'm 99% sure yours is yeti. I have a few other factory frames that I will try to get the numbers on to try and confirm. I know all my non factorys start with a number- hence, no "H", or "HV" code. The bassboat blue on one of my bikes is a little toooo thick. Hopefully we have more posts from different people too!
Thanks for the effort
I just picked up a 17" Buffed LXT # is 97 B E 00788 with and L below the serial #.It is in great shape and just about original. Really nice but I think it may be a little tall for me. I am 5'7" with an inseam about28 or 29. Should I try for a 15"? And if so would a 2001 Factory with XRT be a better bike? Thanks for any opinions and all the info here...
I sent a letter to yeti hoping to get a list of serial numbers for the homegrown builds they have done. Lets hope for the best.
Perhaps they can give a solid answer
