Yes, the front fork is pretty heavy, its probably 1 pound heavier than the Recon 351 on the other bike. I’m not too sure how I could make the drivetrain lighter – perhaps going to a Chris King/ZTR wheelset and lighter tires might reap another half pound savings. The 31.5 weigh-in was also made with an Easton CT2 carbon seatpost and a SDG Ventura Comp Ti saddle both which were lighter than the Thomson Elite/SDG Aliso Cr-Mo combo.
I could probably do a mix-match of parts from both bikes to achieve the lightest weight possible, but the Straight 6 will eventually get my other Shiver SC fork I got for it when I locate a decent 20mm wheelset.
