Yes, I said TEAM. Has anyone seen one of these before? It tough to determine the year. There is no serial number on the frame itself, but a 97 serial number on the rear triangle. The paint is similar to a 98 Factory Team Hardtail, but the later Homegrown decal on the top tube could put it closer to late 99.

All the decals are a thick vinyl, applied over the clear coat. The red isn’t so much bass boat, kinda more of a metallic red. There’s no sticker stating what aluminum it’s built out of.

I’m the third owner. The guy I bought it from had this to say about it.

“A friend of mine did graphics work for Schwinn in Denver (their team trucks and the like).  He was paid in bike and cash.  He rode it for a year, then got a new bike.  I bought it from him (in Denver).  I rode for a couple years, then stopped mtn riding when I moved to Utah.  I have seen similar bikes, but never this one.  I think it is very unique.  That is about all I know about it.”

The pictures kinda got cut off, they can be seen here too: http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f343/blue72beetle/Schwinn/Homegrown/

That thing is sweet. A very cool find.

For future reference, the forum cuts anything off that’s wider than 640 pixels, sometimes less. I’m working on trying to get around the formatting issues that occasionally pop up on here.
