Member1998 Homegrown XT, 21”, Bass-Boat Orange
My wife and I bought his/hers BB Orange homegrowns in 1998. My wife is keeping hers, new technology is calling me.
The bike has normal wear and tear. It has been ridden on trails, but I am not an aggressive rider; the bike is in great condition! Some decals are pealing and unfortunately, due to an ill-advised power-washing session, the “SCHWINN” decals peeled off. The checkered flags and tomatoes are mostly all perfectly intact, see pics. Otherwise the bike is in perfect mechanical condition.

MemberAfter posting this ad I dicovered I still have the original gooseneck and seat; not sure if that helps the value much, but they would obviously be included with the bike.
Also, I would love it if some of the HG experts would weigh-in with more info on this bike. What aspects of this model’s history makes it more or less desireable to potential buyers/collectors? I know the condition of the decals, especially missing “SCHWINN” is probably a big factor; I would be interested in knowing about this model in general and what makes it sweet, or not so sweet compared to others.
I love reading about the history and passion surrounding the homegrowns – please educate me!
Thanks and enjoy! -Mike
