I own a Homegrown Factory XT Bass Boat Blue, bought it in 1998 and it’s still in excelent condition. The only thing missing is the “schwinn” sticker and some small paint chips. I can’t decide if I should sell it and buy a new bike or keep it. I guess it all depends on how much it’s worth. The bike is all original, it came with Mavic Crossmax Wheels and blue RockShox SID.

How much would I fetch for this bike if I sold it on ebay?

I would say $300 to $350. The factory xt’s are very special, but some people ask way to much for em’. Theyre kinda becoming ling muscle car if you know what I mean.

    – Thanks, Eric

Hi, I’ve been looking for a Homegrown like yours to buy, the issue is always size:) What size frame do you have?

    Thanks   Dave

I have a great Moab but have always wanted a Homegrown. I’m 57 years old now,(sigh), and grew up when Schwinn was king. My current Moab and my Cannondale Road Warrior are both 21″ frames so I assume I’m looking for the same in a Homegrown. I’m in Oregon but willing to drive a day for the right bike or to pay reasonable shipping. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!   Dave

I bought one like that a year ago with full XTR and Titanium seat post, saddle, and handlebar, with a SID form, and XTR wheels for $700.  Anything less than ALL XTR or ti mixtures on this bike and you are looking at 3-400 price range.  Add in a few nice component to make it work their while and you could bump it up to 4-500 max.  The problem is that its now a 14-15 year old bike an wheel set.  The technology has changed sooo much since the 90’s, with Carbon and Ti compunds getting a lot of attention, and the big push for 29’s as well.  Only the purest’s will still buy old frams and pound the trails with them.

Any pictures you can load?  What size?

That’s the good news, the bad news is it’s still a couple weeks out if I’m honest about the time I’ll have for final troubleshooting and transferring a bunch of stuff from the old site to the new version.

I would be interested in purchasing it if you do decide to sell it.   Would love to see some photos.
