KeymasterIt only took me about 8 years to finally track one down in this condition, but here’s my baby, direct from Germany. It started out as a period build but got a few more modern touches along the way. Ordinarily it sports a pair of Egg Beaters and Moab Trail and Leader tires to go with the XTR build with Avid brakes and Race Face Turbine cranks. Special thanks to Dave at Thomson for pulling out a miracle in finding a silver stem to complete the look.
I’m no photographer and had some trouble making the bike look nearly as good as it does in person, so my apologies for the lousy pictures.

MemberThat is a great bike John. Just thought I would put my name first in line for any chance to take it off your hands. It looks to be a 17″ right? How did you find it in Germany? Must be an interesting story.

KeymasterBut it won’t get you anything.
I’d say this one is untouchable-it is the ’64 Fender Strat to my Wayne. It is a 17, good eyes! Thanks for the compliments, guys.
I went through 2 others (both 19″ frames sold as 17, even with correct measurements given to me) before I got this one. I had been scouring craigslist posts from all over but with no luck. I happened to find a guy that posted it on bikeforums and I asked where he got it. Turns out he needed a larger frame so we did some parts swapping, and I ended up with a NOS Homegrown. Patience pays off…eventually.
