October 23, 2013 at 9:20 pm #3637AnatoliParticipantIt looks like I got almost the same one. *smile*
October 24, 2013 at 10:04 pm #3639AnatoliParticipantActually, I did not know about these bikes too. It looked like piece of … when I got it. It just seemed kind of suspicious to me and I took it from pile of trashed bikes. I was surprised by it’s weight, but had no idea what it is… and then in a few days found your images through Google.
Jeff, what kind of paint did you use for touch up? It has a couple of rock chips and I would like to fix them.October 25, 2013 at 3:11 am #3640livernoseParticipantI use nail polish to touch up bike frames. I actually have 1 rock chip on the frame pictured and haven’t matched the paint yet. These frames were powder coated so the finish is tough. Last frame I had I took to a place called Ulta, that my daughter goes to for make up and nail polish. Carried the frame right in and matched the color. You may have to try a few different shades to get the exact match because the dried color looks a little different than the color in the bottle. I’ve been busy lately so I don’t plan on doing any paint matching for a few months, but when I do, I will let you know the exact brand and color. I will use the cracked frame for a match.
October 25, 2013 at 3:12 am #3641livernoseParticipantBTW, You made a terrific find when you rescued that bike from the trash heap.
October 25, 2013 at 3:23 am #3638livernoseParticipantYour frame and decals look to be in great shape. I have 3 of these. The one pictured, another that I use as a hybrid, and a cracked frame that I can’t bare to get rid of. They are so lightweight and climb like goats. No mountains in FL where I am, but the closet I come are little “goat” trails in rock quarries around Ocala, FL. Very hard to find and not many people that realize what they are.
December 4, 2013 at 12:07 am #3657ShacklefordMembertechnically speaking, it’s a Project Colorado
December 4, 2013 at 1:28 am #3658livernoseParticipantYou still got that frame in the above picture?
December 4, 2013 at 2:17 pm #3659ShacklefordMemberyes
December 4, 2013 at 2:19 pm #3660livernoseParticipantI don’t suppose you are interested in selling it are you?
December 4, 2013 at 3:15 pm #3661ShacklefordMemberDecember 4, 2013 at 8:43 pm #3662livernoseParticipantThat’s what I figured. If I had that I would never sell, I’d display it next to my 87 Paramount on the family room wall.
December 4, 2013 at 8:58 pm #3663ShacklefordMemberShe was bought brand new
She’s absolutely perfect
Not a scratch, not a mark – she’s flawless
How many members can make those statements regarding this priceless piece of history?
My dick still gets hard when I take her out of her box………………………….
February 6, 2014 at 12:01 am #3692AnatoliParticipantI need your opinion…decided to sell mine. What you think is a right price for this bike?
Appreciate your input.February 6, 2014 at 12:38 am #3693ShacklefordMemberDamn, that’s tough one
I’ve had my frame (Project Colorado) posted to see what offers I might get
Funny thing, I haven’t got one…………….
What I have gotten is a lot of social media losers (Buddy Book or Face Page of whatever the fuck it’s called) bagging on me, or so I’ve been told by my local bike mechanic who frequents that retarded “be my friend” bullshit
As for your ride, she’s a rare bird and looks to be in pristine condition
Personally, I would hold out for whatever number is floating in your head
Why?
Because that’s how it should be when you own a irreplaceable piece of mountain biking history
There are fools out there that talk shit – “the economy is to blame”
You know what – FUCK THEM
I don’t buy that economy shit for a minute, you know why?
Turn your T.V. on and tune into 1 of 2 programs – Barrett Jackson Auction or Mecum Auction
The bidding floor is packed with dudes tossing $100,000 (CASH) at a car that will sit in a garage for the rest off it’s life
The economy is in a bad way, yeah right – whatever
I blame this low ball trend bullshit on shows like American Pickers (two fucking scumbag scammers) who make it a practice fucking people out off their collectibles
Everybody thinks they are the next “American Picker”
Anyway………….
What’s your bike worth?
Whatever you feel it’s worth – and not a penny less
Remember one thing, you own a ultra rare piece of history and that in itself is priceless
– Mike
