It just looks a little generic.It is a little sparkely,But I haven’t seen one similar yet.Hope I didn’t buy a Dud..Thanks..RR

It does Not have the 6061 sticker. And from what I gather,It was made by Control Tech, for Schwinn,So thats a little dissapointing….. Im not sure what to do with it, I “BID” hasitly, because I wanted the Yeti model as the description said.It Is a NEW unbuilt frame.But.. I may re-contact the seller, and try to get a refund.Any thoughts..?
Thank you for the replys,I had Much better luck here finding the 411 I was looking for.It was All helpful info. I may keep the frame, because I may find a yeti/schwinn,but I doubt a NEW one ,as this one is….Thanks! RR VB,Va.

It does appear that the whole yeti frame thing can be confusing but this site seems to have so much info that is closer to the truth than any. You might try to email mike to see if he can lead you to a yeti framed bike or someone might post one here once site gets fully going again. Try to subscribe and start the conversation about finding a frame. He may even have some leads.
July 8, 2009 at 2:32 am #2285johnKeymasterLooks like the base model Homegrown frame made by Control Tech, as you’ve ascertained already. That is the frame that was used for the Homegrown ESP, XT, and LXT models. While it’s not a true Yeti frame it’s still an excellent hardtail frame made in the US that’s just a touch heavier than the Yeti. It will still make for a sweet ride should you decide to keep it.
Sorry the images and catalogs were down on the site but they’re back now.
I’m also hoping to improve the ability to navigate, edit, and generally use the forums.

My dad bought that same frame with is the lxt model. Great bike. As long as you didn’t drop more than a couple hundred bucks on it I’d say go for it. If you bought it on ebay, just give the seller a bad a review he’s the one in the wrong and should be known for it.
Great bike though, not yeti built
November 1, 2010 at 7:15 pm #2942bikericMemberThat was the one year for the awesome “Killer Tomato Red” paint. It was very nice. Looked just like a rip tomato in the sun, and almost had a chameleon effect of orange to yellow. In 1995 and 1996, the red color frames were just that, basic “lipstick” or Crayola red. Thread as been dead for awhile, but brought back to life by canislupis. Am I correct to assume the “L” in the serial number means large or 19″?
