I have a 1998 Homegrown XT, original Judy XC Fork (63mm travel) with a 1 1/8 in steerer tube. At some point I want to upgrade the fork with something new. Not sure if the frame is compatible with modern forks that have 100mm+ travel. Does anyone know if modern forks will work?
They work fine as long as you can find one with a straight steerer tube and also whether it has brake studs or disc brake only depending on what you want. I personally like Rockshox SIDs because they are light and easy to service. My son has a Fox RL100 he loves. The newer ones actually work much better in my opinion.
Thanks Jeff!
