Livernose, that’s been my experience as well regarding the caps. I think new conditioned ones in packages can sell for around $50 day in and day out. $10 is really cheap for a used one—someone scored.
A few years ago, there was a shop around me that had a bunch laying around from being an old Schwinn dealer. I picked up a handful at about a buck a piece.

You aren’t the only one. I’ve got it setup to send me an email with new stuff everyday.How about this website to make new headset caps. [url]http://kustomcaps.com/products/fully-kustom-cap[/url] While not authentic maybe a good alternative. Looks like $16 per cap. Can be made in any color also.
Interesting option. Unless there’s copyright issues regarding the image? It’s probably still under trademark protection.
Dan Shust from kustomcaps emailed back and will make the tomato caps. He says he has the artwork, just order them under “fully kustom caps”.
