Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › General Stuff › Homegrown Talk › Top or side of top tube????
So most people come here to find out which Homegrown they have, or which one they are going to buy. I have an ‘97 Homegrown XT in cherry. The big question that I have is; why does my ’97 XT have cable routing on the TOP of the top tube? In the ‘98 catalog they cable routing is clearly on the top tube, whereas as my 97 xt has cable routing on the TOP, but the 97 catalog only has cable routing on the side? The paint on my 97 is NOT bass boat. It is the straight cherry red. Anybody seen this anomoly??
Thanks for your response!
There was another user on the forum with a similar situation.
He posted here:http://www.bonustomato.com/forum/shop/1691
Also, on the homegrown facebook page he posted on March 27: ” Picked up frame, NOS, no stickers, serial # HS6304. I figure it’s a 1996, however the tt cable stops run along the top of the tube, not along the side which I have normally seen.I added the homegrown stickers and schwinn head badge.”
A fun little mystery, it just makes your bike that much more interesting! 🙂
