MemberI have a full original 2001 Homegrown Factory Limited that I am in need of some final parts for. The bike is fully complete, with the exception of the Titec Carbon 191 seatpost. The rear Hugi 240 Hub is cracked in half as well. I am looking to replace both of these pieces to have the bike back to original condition. I have checked various bike forums as well as Ebay and have come up blank.
Please let me know if anyone can assist. Thanks!

livernoseParticipantThis looks pretty darn expensive and it’s in Poland. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-DT-HUGI-240-SWISS-bicycle-hub-rear-hubs-hubset-9-x-135-mm/142567169851?hash=item2131aa5f3b:g:AgkAAOSwcXVZ9xwv

MemberExpensive, in Poland, and CRACKED! Add to that, it is a disc hub as well. I am looking for a non-disc. With that said, I actually emailed DT Swiss yesterday and got a response from Dave today that they probably have an original 240 laying around that he would send me if he can get his hands on it. Talk about fantastic customer service…willing to warranty a cracked hub after 16 years.
Still on the hunt for the original Titec 191 Carbon seatpost. And I guess I need to find an original seat to really get it closer to original. It still has the original grips, but not the correct tires.Russ

livernoseParticipantThat is great customer service. It’s great finding parts you have been searching for. It took me 6 years to find an Underground frame, and then I found 2 within 2 weeks of one another. I got them both. Good luck in your search.

livernoseParticipantYou ever get your warranty hub?

MemberJeff,
I have been talking with Dave over at DT Swiss last week, and he sent out the hub on Friday. Should have it this week. I can’t say enough praise about DT Swiss. To have them warranty a hub after 17 years is phenomenal. Dave has been awesome at hunting one down and sending it out.
Now all I need is a Titec Carbon post and the correct saddle, and it will be back to original. Thanks for the follow up!

livernoseParticipantNice looking rig. Are those Mavic rims? The red ano looks good on that frame.

MemberThey are Mavic X-517. I thought they might be stock OEM wheels for it….are they not?

livernoseParticipantNot sure what the stock wheels were, but my favorite rims are the Mavic 517 and the 717. Side by side the 517 is slightly lighter in weight than the 717.

MemberThe original wheels were Tioga, with the white stripe on 2001, the red mavic 517 on 2000 limited. I have an original seat I’d sell, been keeping it to have all original, but let’s be real I’ll never sell the bike and need my women’s saddle to ride, if you are interested, however will be late December-January that I could get to it out of my basement in Iowa since I’m in Florida till then. It’s off my 17″ 2001 limited that was my first homegrown.

MemberThank you for the response and education! I guess I have a 2000 model and not the 2001. Thank you!
And thank you for your offer on the seat. I will definitely take you up on that. Let me know when you have some time to dig it out and I would be happy to get you paid and make arrangements to get it sent out. Thanks again! I look forward to hearing back from you.

MemberSounds good, I’ll let you know when I get to the saddle!

MemberI believe I also have one from the 2000 limited, slightly different, that was my second homegrown.

MemberThanks again!! I would be happy to take either one off your hands. Do you happen to have an Titec Carbon seatpost laying around as well?
Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
