While not technically a Homegrown nor a 1995, I would be remiss if I didn’t include Mike W’s sweet ride here as it is the precursor to the Homegrown.

While not technically a Homegrown nor a 1995, I would be remiss if I didn’t include Mike W’s sweet ride here as it is the precursor to the Homegrown.

Mike contributed some of the info found in the Homegrown FAQ section of this site, and is also the proud owner of this bike, which was Ruthie Matthes’ ride for the 1994 edition of Team Evian/Schwinn. It predates the original Project Underground aluminum bikes made by Control Tech and was actually built by Chris Herting (who some of you may know was Yeti’s director of frame design and R&D at the time). A very cool bike, complete with oversize headset.
