I bought the Adapter to check/add air to SID SL forks. I threaded in the top, but it doesn’t depress the schraeder valve. I tried to pump air, but it wouldn’t fill. Thing is, I don’t see how it would work anyway. The adapter is open. Seems like air would leak out. Probably have to remove with the pump valve still connected?
Can you attach a photo? Not sure which adapter you are talking about. If it’s this one, the adapter stays on the pump. Attached is a photo of my adapter on my shock pump.
That’s as far down as the adapter will thread. Once it depresses the schraeder valve will air escape? If the pump wasn’t attached that is?
That’s the same adapter. You really have to push it past the o-ring and then thread it in. It does stay on the pump otherwise it would bleed all the air right out of the shock.
If that doesn’t work maybe the o-ring is a little too big and won’t allow it to get to the threads.
Okay thanks for the info. maybe I’ll try it first with the O Ring off then to see if I can get it in easier. I didn’t want to break it off in there.
