Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › The Shop › For Sale/Trade › (2) 2001 Homegrown Comp’s up for grabs
Gonna test the waters here. Anyone in the market for a pair of ‘01 HG Comps?
Up for potential grabs are my ‘17 in. 650b SS rigid convert and my daughter’s ‘15 in. race rocket. Let me know if interested or want more details. Cheers!
Ask any questions.
I’ll take that 17″ off your hands. I’m located in Tulsa, OK. and would probably need it shipped depending on your location. Send me a PM with your price.
Just sent you PM. Thanks!
Hi KnobbyFischer,
I am new to the site. I haven’t ridden mountain bikes since I bought this same 17″ frame 20 years ago. I am really excited to begin transforming the stock Homegrown Comp frame into a similar 650b set up as your daughter’s bike. Did you use thru-axle converters to QR skewers to mount the 650b wheels? I am thinking of buying some used Easton Haven 27.5″ wheels to start the process. But, I don’t know enough about thru axles to say if a conversion kit from Easton will allow me to use 9mm QR skewers.
Also, what hydraulic brake systems or adapters fit with IS mounts? It seems that all other Homegrowns use the A2z mount but the 2001 Homegrown Comp has this IS mount but I can’t find any info how to switch it to a Disc brake.
Thanks,
YellowZebra
