Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › The Shop › For Sale/Trade › For Sale: NOS 1999 Schwinn Homegrown Pro, XTR/XT SID LT 17″?
Update: confirmed it’s a 17″ and posted it for sale here.
Hey Homegrown fans,
Perhaps this is your lucky day. Our nonprofit ( https://bikex.org ) amazingly received a 17″(?) 1999 Homegrown Pro that looks like it’s never seen a ride. Sure, so many people say things like that but you can check out the pics. This bike is flawless. Looks all original except the stem and saddle. I’m guessing these were swapped out at the shop, it was given to someone and it sat in the garage forever. The original tires have unscathed knobs but are cracking with age.
We’ll soon post it to Craigslist and our online store at https://shop.bikex.org but I thought even though we really don’t like shipping stuff, a true Homegrown fan should get first dibs.
It’s a 17 I believe”. I measured a 36.5cm c-c- seat tube and 57cm effective top tube. That ETT lines up with a 17″ on the geo chart. Some say it looks like a 15″. I’l re-measure a c-to-top seat tube on Wednesday.
Here are pics.
PM or comment with interest or offer. I don’t have a price yet but saw a used singlespeed version sell on an auction site for $1200+.
Any sale will have to have shipping additional. Local Bay Area pick up preferred.
Sale benefits our bike donations to the community so it’s a win-win!
Thanks for looking.
Wow, that thing is MINT!
I do think the $1200 SS build was quite an outlier on price, though I hope you get a good amount for your organization.
Hello,
That is a beautiful bike. I live in Santa Cruz, how much is the bike selling for?
Thanks,
Sam
Sam,
Wow, you’re close! You can make it yours for $800 if you pick up. Not cheap but also not ridden! 😉 Supports charity.
Nice bike there, and doesn’t look to be ridden much. Change out the tires and stem and she;’s ready to ride. Good luck with your sale.
Is that thing sold? Looks like it on your site.
If that’s not correct let me know!
Yes, thanks for your interest but it did sell. Good luck hunting!
