Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › General Stuff › Homegrown Talk › Is it a Homegrown?
I’m guessing I just bought a non-Homegrown Schwinn with a Homegrown sticker on it, but I found your site and thought I’d ask to see if anyone knows.
It has internal cable routing for the rear brake and downtube cable routing for the front and rear derailleur. The welds look like they’ve been cleaned up a little and it has a black to dark purple fade that shows up in the sun. It has a 1″ headtube. I haven’t seen any other Homegrowns like this.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Definitely not a Homegrown but possibly some sort of cross/touring bike. Reasoning:
I couldn’t tell you what it is, but I know what it’s not…the welds do remind be a bit of older Cannondales but that’s all I’ve got.
That all makes sense. Thank you!
That looks more like a 1988-1989 Schwinn MP21 that got painted black and had Homegrown stickers added. Still not a terrible bike.
I think you nailed it with the repainted / restickered MP21. Thanks!
Impressive. *clapping*
