MemberI’m guessing I just bought a non-Homegrown Schwinn with a Homegrown sticker on it, but I found your site and thought I’d ask to see if anyone knows.
It has internal cable routing for the rear brake and downtube cable routing for the front and rear derailleur. The welds look like they’ve been cleaned up a little and it has a black to dark purple fade that shows up in the sun. It has a 1″ headtube. I haven’t seen any other Homegrowns like this.
Any ideas? Thanks!

tomatoadminKeymasterDefinitely not a Homegrown but possibly some sort of cross/touring bike. Reasoning:
- Straight seat stays
- Downtube shifter bosses
- Internal cable routing
- Chainstay shape/structure near BB
- Rack mounts on dropouts and rear cable stop.
I couldn’t tell you what it is, but I know what it’s not…the welds do remind be a bit of older Cannondales but that’s all I’ve got.

MemberThat looks more like a 1988-1989 Schwinn MP21 that got painted black and had Homegrown stickers added. Still not a terrible bike.

MemberI think you nailed it with the repainted / restickered MP21. Thanks!
