This is an example of what NOT TO DO.  I loved the frame color so much that I tried to match every part on the bike to the blue.  I got close on most of the parts, but standing back from the bike it is just terrible.  This is an example of OCD I am sure, but I will try not to do it again.  I even had the lower fork legs of a Marzocchi painted to match (unsuccesful).

Let these pictures be a warning for anyone else who thinks that annodized blue components will make your Bass Boat Blue Homegrown look awesome.  Do not waste your money like I did.  I could have had another frame or two to build up if I didn’t waste my money on blue annodization.

Notice that the cable stops are on the right side of the top tube.  Most other Homegrowns have cable stops centered over the top.  This is one of the earliest versions.  It did have the Tomato stickers on the top tube near the seat tube, but they were worn off.  It never had those white stickers on the seat tube.  I purchsed this bike from a mechanic at the original (and still greatest) bike shop I worked for.  He owned and raced this bike against me while I was racing on a ParkPre Scepter Comp.  He always won.  I think I got the last laugh though.

I think the blue anodizing looks good, just my opinion.
