Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › Pivot Bearing Replacement
I’ve got a ’96-97 Homegrown Factory Suspension and I need new flanged bearings for the main triangle. What’s wearing the most is flange the rear swing arm pivots against. I removed the tube that the rear end pivots on easily. What I don’t know is:
-Are the cups that hold the sleeve bearings press fit? I don’t have to take them out, but I’d just like to know.
-The flanged bearing does not come out of the cup. Is there anything I should be aware of before I go primitive and force the old flanged bearing out?

I think I found a decent replacement. The bearing surface is 1/4″ wider, but inside/outside/flange dimensions look right.
Thanks in advance,
Jesus
I’m not sure of the answers to your questions, but when the subject of Sweetspot bushings comes up, I always refer people to this thread.

It looks like John Castellano, the guy that designed the Sweetspot, has bushings for sale, possibly more Sweetspot parts. Gime him a call or email.
Maybe you have one of the early bearing designs, but assuming you have bushings (not bearings), are the originals the metal or nylon type bushings? Post a pic so we can see.
