MemberHey guys,
I have some scratches down to the bare aluminum on my 01′ yellow Straight 6 and wanted to know if one would know the paint chip code or a color that is closest to it? I want to touch up some nicks on it before I go all out paint job on this one…
Thanks,
Chris

ParticipantTake it to an automotive paint dealer. They can colormatch.

KeymasterNail polish could work for you if it’s just small stuff you want to tackle for now. I don’t know if there’s much available in yellow but back in the day I had some luck even with bass boat blue for a 97 frame. Be prepared for some strange looks from the ladies as you peruse the nail polish aisle if you go that route, though.

ParticipantI still need to look for some orange nail polish for my BBO. What I figured out was that the orange that chipped off is actually just transparent orange. The bass boat sparkle is still on the frame. It must have been put on in two stages. Maybe that’s why it’s a very fragile paint job.

KeymasterIt definitely seems like they did a bass boat base coat on some of the bikes with clear over for color. On my ’98 Factory XT in the spots where the blue has rubbed off it’s a nice bass boat silver, and there’s one spot on my gold and red bike where the red is gone revealing bass boat gold.
