Just another 1998 Homegrown XT. Beatiful color of Bass Boat Orange. I though I would take a quick picture before the bike gets converted to an urban single speed. I have a “Factory” on the way, so most every part is getting swapped over.
Parts list: Full Shimano XTR M950/M951 8 speed. Chris King classic hubs on Bontrager rims. 2000 Marzocchi Z2 with custom ECC installed in left leg to lock down the fork with zero travel. The crankset was looking rough, so I sanded the grey off and polished them. Syncros seatpost with SDG Ventura saddle. Titec Ti stem with Easton CT2 carbon straight bar. As it sits, the bike weighs 23.5 pounds but feels much lighter. Not a weight weenie, but a very sturdy and solid ride.
Nice lookin Homegrown!!!
I have started a new project. I have this bike converted to SS, but have recently purchased an Easton Elite frame that will allow me go SS or geared without a “singleator”. I now need to sell one of my frames (wifes request/order). I can part with this 17″ 1998 BB Orange frame, or a 15.5″ 2004 Trek Liquid 55. Any interest in either frame with any parts, let me know. First to sell gets to go. Listed on Ebay now.
