Hi, what a great site this is.

Hi, what a great site this is.

I have a 1997 Homegrown Factory Bass Boat Blue, that I had ordered in 1996.  I ordered it as a frame only, and if memory serves me right I was told that only 500 or so were made.  Also myunderstanding that it is a Easton 705 aluminum frame made by Yeti.  I built it up from the frame in 1997 with Johnny Tomac Hydrolic brakes and mostly xtr or xt components.  A chris King Headset and Manitou front forks.( the white ones, that had the spring and polymer in them).  it was also fitted with Kore, seat post and quick releases. Also I have Spin wheels on it that were sent out to an authorized Spin painter and they were painted white.  I think after all said and done I had about 5,000 into the bike, give or take.

I still have it and rode it alot until I blew my knee out on some trails, and then it got stored then I became a dad and then it became the coolest bike pulling a baby trailer.  I have just recently gotten the urge to ride trails again. So I bought some basic off road tires and tuned it up and going to hit the trails this coming week.  It still is in great shape except for the decals which I really want to get replaced soon.

Well had it out, and it was a greta feeling being back on the trails after so many years. My Cardio needs some more work though.  Bike handled great other than the derailers being way out of adjustment, nothing like phantom shifting as your ridng up hill.  But I hope to have that all worked out and will be hitting the trails this coming Wednesday again

Hey Man, I’m in similar situation.  I used to bike like crazy in the early 90’s, but life and stuff like that happens and I started to taper off.  Fast forward to 2010, I’ve got my original schwinn S95 that I rode for ever, and a 2001 Homegrown Factory sitting in the garage.  My son just turned 11, so I bought a mountain bike for him and we’re hitting trails.  I love the feeling of biking again, and glad i’m able to connect with it and my son.

That is awesome.  Yeah I was pretty crazy about it 14 years ago or so.  But the good thing is with buying top quality like the homegrowns and such even back then they are still up to par on whats being put out their today.  Glad to hear your back into it and getting your son into it also.
