Right now just gauging interest and its worth. I ordered this frame in the middle of 96 and got it in 97 when they were released to the public. It is a 17″ Easton Frame.
Right now just gauging interest and its worth. I ordered this frame in the middle of 96 and got it in 97 when they were released to the public. It is a 17″ Easton Frame. Built it up piece by piece. It has JOhnny Tomac Hydraulic brakes, Spin wheels, painted white by a factory Spin Dealer. All XT components. Kore, seatpost, and skewers. Chris King Headset. The fork needs rebuilding. The decals are flaking off as most do. Its in excellent shape for its age and besides a few scratches here and there it great. Wa sonly trail ridden for about a year then I blew out my knee. Then it got stored and then it became the dads bike to pull the bike trailer. Now I am getting back into riding trails again, and I rode a 29ner and I am hooked.
******EDIT ITS A 19″ frame
November 20, 2010 at 5:02 am #2973bikericMemberCould you measure the frame from the center of the BB to the top of the seat collar? Looks like 19″ to me. Other than that, looks cool. That is the “Holy Grail” frame and paint for me. My wife has a set of white Spins as well on her Trek Yfive0. Chris King headset is a must. Magura brakes are either a love em’ or hate em’ thing. Not sure if you are looking to sell complete as is, or willing to part it out. What it’s worth, and what you can get for it are two different animals these days. My suggestion is part it out. What would you want for frame only?
November 22, 2010 at 3:16 pm #2980cemeb4dkMemberHi,
It’s definitley a 17″. I have loved the Magura Hydraulic brakes, they have worked flawlessly, but as you say I am sure there are people that don’t liek them. I would love to see a pic of your wifes bike with the painted spins. I have never seen another pair other than mine and a set at an old bike show years ago where spin had a booth, which gave me the idea, but those were not white. Oh I know street value to what I think its worth are two seperate things. I am relaistic though. But I do know there probably are not many of these frames left out there. I would like to keep it together as I would not have use for the parts without frame and so on. But if you feel inclined to shoot an offer over to me, go ahead. All I can say is no, and thats its.
December 3, 2010 at 2:57 pm #2990cemeb4dkMemberWell it turns out I was wrong all these years, still baffled by it but the frame is a 19″. I honestly would of bet a paycheck that it was a 17″
Well anyways its up on ebay. If anyone is interested shoot me a message here or via ebay.
December 9, 2010 at 5:14 pm #2994cemeb4dkMemberwell I have decided to break it down and sell it in parts.
I have the wheels up on ebay. I will be selling frame seperately and also all the components. Headset will go with frame.
But if your looking to restore your homegrown, this is the perfect oppurtunity to get period correct components. Open to any and all offers regarding any part of bike.
