Just recently picked up a 15.5 BBB Homgrown factory that i am 99% its a 97, everything points to it. It is the “darker” blue color which i think i have the answer as to why some of the early BBB were dark. On my frame there are parts of the heavy, unsmooth blue flake that has chiped up and left a black base with a couple of flake still buried in the black (assuming that is wasn’t 100% dry at this stage of the paint). Now a black base might have been good for blue I think that they switch to a silver base (like most of the custom candy and flake auto paint jobs use) followed by flake.

Again this is speculation as the only other HG i have is a brand new 2000 Pro. Also I think the size of my frame also dictated the lack of seatpost decal. Honestly i don’t know where the heck the water bottle is supposed to go. The front deraileur falls in the middle of the seat post holes and the down tube holes are too far forward, ah the beauty of hand made cycles.
A question i have is reguarding the number stamped into the left inside dropout.
HT8081.
Does this mean anything to anybody??

I am not an expert on the serial number codes, but yours appears to be from the “Factory” variety. Does the frame have a rear canti standoff?
Yes, rear canti standoff. Does that mean its made it Colorashington?? If the camera is in the jeep I’ll snap some pics.
Where are the serial number, BB?
