Schwinn Homegrown Model Identifier › Forums › 2001 Straight 6 rebuilt and repainted
Hey guys. Here she is. I finally got around to repainting and rebuilding this beauty.
Where did you get the sticker?
I designed it myself on my computer and then printed it out on sticker decal paper. If you need the artwork just let me know.
I sold my bike just like that on Ebay more than a year ago. It’s original picture is here http://www.bonustomato.com/sites/default/files/images/2001%20Schwinn%20Straight%206-2_0.jpg
It looks like the same fork, headset and lizardskin. I didn’t sell my frame with the XTR as you see in the above linked photo. Plus I think I did sell it with a funky blue or purple Specialed stem??? Memory issues. Frame looks great now, wish I had kept it. Great job on the refurbishment. AKA on Ebay, mechanicalhouse.
Hi Eric,
Yes I rode the bike for a season the way you sold it to me but over time I bought other components on ebay to rebuild the bike.
Including a 9 speed conversion with derailleur, 9 speed chain, cassette, and shifter. The CrossMax ST wheels was the last piece of the puzzle to rebuild the ride. My local bike shop had a heck of a time trying to mount the Schwalbe tires on the rims. Took 2 of them 4 hours until I called Schwalbe and they explained to them what to do. BTW Schwalbe has excellent customer service. They actually pick up the phone and talk to you right away. No machine.
