I think I read somewhere that RockShox made the disck brakes for only a year or two- could be wrong. I believe it is hydraulic/ cable hybrid.

I beleive this bike to be 98% original with the exception of the tires, so the shifters and brakes are as lisited in the catalog; XT front, XTR Rear shifters with a funky bar-end shifter extension for the rear, brakes are RockShox disk front, XT cV-brakes rear. I’m in for a ’98 Factory set, or at least the large downtube version (black) and the topvtube “Factory” one.

Just got my ’98 silver & blue- cleaning it up now!
