MemberMan, I need to check in more often. There’s an ‘early’ and a ‘late’ within the 96’s as well. The first few had the tubular seatstay bridge common to HG’s and 20″ ENF/Pro Modifieds and the last 129 (so far, might be more) received the extruded stay. Haven’t been able to determine the total number produced, but frame #865 is a 20″, #870 has surfaced as as a 24″, and every frame after #870 had been a 24, so I’m guessing that all production switched over to the cruisers at that point. The highest ’96 serial to surface has been #1029, so given the difference of 159 units, and since humans like nice round numbers, I’m thinking likely 175-200 produced, with (at most) the first 30 receiving the round bridge.
Here’s an early frame:

MemberTook a while to put it together, but the UK guy, yeah bought a set of his Fastback decals for one of my 24’s… gets the job done but something just seems a bit, fuzzy?

MemberDunno about the badge, but a dude popped up on ePay with a cool NOS N’lightend water bottle cheap 🙂 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bicycle-Water-Bottle-Schwinn-NLitened-NOS-/221968967251?hash=item33ae61a653:g:xg8AAOSwFGNWSNsd
Was gunna nab it just for the heck of it, but thought that would be greedy after taking both NOS HG bottles 🙂 I think he’s a Phantom guy- he calls our bikes “the re-issue days” hahaha.

MemberWith regard to production numbers… over the summer in doing research on the Anodising Inc. built ENF/Pro Modified BMX frames Rich mentioned that at least with regard to AI production (as this was all our conversation adressed) they only got one shot- they had to forcast the entire year all at once and place one single order for frames. There was no going back two months later and asking for 200 more. I don’t know if this as a Schwinn budget planning thing or an AI “we only jig up once, you only get one chance” thing (still trying to track down old timers from AI but like you say John, motivations wax and wane) but one of the things he did not remember was production minimums… at least with AI. Obviously a metric boatload more HG’s were built than the BMX frames (we guessed 1000 max units in 95-96 each and the registry I started for those seems to back this up so far) but if it comes to it I’d be happy to thow my name in the hat for serial tracking, site contributions, or even picking up the future hosting, though in all honesty someone who knows more about them should be a first choice…but if you’d like to start a BMX sub forum… lol.
Guess I oughta drag myself over to FB… god i hate that place.

MemberStrictly speaking they are for ’95-96 BMX frames being on chrome Mylar, but looing at the pics here it looks like everything 95-99 except 95 hardtails (looks like they use the 14.5″ version) and perhaps the ’98 All Mountain, but it might just be an optical illusion making that one look smaller. But again, these will have the Mylar/chrome outline as indicated on this first run. I need at least 5 confirmed orders to do a special run on clear, but the fill color wouldn’t matter- I just have to get up over the print minimum.
Here’s the NOS sample I used as the source so expect the same ‘chrome’ outline, also notice the S-C-H are not spaced apart like on the 14.5″ version. I can have them made larger by request, but a purist will know the difference.

MemberFirst run will be on Mylar, so yeah, chrome outlines.

Basically that’s $7.50 ea plus shipping. If you need me to break the set, its $25/$15 per pair. Here’s the “x-rated” version of what you’ll actually get, 13″ and 7″ for the bits that matter (mods feel free to edit if this is pushing the needle too far from the yellow into the orange):

Available in Tomato Red, Blue (limited) and no fill/black outline only (limited). Might do a batch on clear later, and 14.5″ sizes maybe too, depends on cost and demand… these aren’t being done at Kinkos 😉

A situation has arisen with my Charlie Sheen “WINNING!” bumper stickers I do in a font surprisingly familiar to most of us. Unforeseeable “printing errors” led to a misspelling, so I will be liquidating stock… as soon as I know how many of these “errors” will occur, and in which colors.
There have also been reports of a tornado striking the central printing offices of the USGS, and self-adhesive notation devices used to denote the exact centralized location of earthquakes have been seen falling from the sky… strangely in pairs.

MemberNot to jack your thread, but this is the first clear pic of a HG serial anyone has posted from what I assume to be an Anodize Inc. frame. Am I correct in assuming that all the AI frames have B as the second digit?
