Well, I guess im the sucker that bought the “project underground” off ebay. Thanx for the tip. Actually there was one there a week ago for a grand, this one was not the case. It was actually listed under Schwinn mountain bike not Homegrown. I stumbled upon it in its last twenty minutes of sale. Well, just to let you guys know, I got it for $400 + $100 or less to ship it. If any of you guys want to reach through the computor and punch me in the face dont worry, if I ever sell it, it would be sold at my cost, no markup, to anyone on this forum.
One question is, is my bike a Yeti built frame?? I tried to check the tech specs on the model of my bike on this site and it keeps kicking me to the 97 XTR bike. I know that in reading “Homegrown Facts” Yeti made the frames for the Factory XTR. Im assumeing that having “Factory” in the title for my bike its a Yeti frame. Doesnt really matter weather its Yeti or a Control tech frame, the big still rocks. I paid I believe $1,600 or $1,700 for the bike new in 98. Thanx
Yeah, I saw that one. I think he wanted a G note for it. I think any of them are worth buying. Right now im laid off, or I would by one in a heartbeat. If it wasnt for this site I would have never updated my bike and start riding again.
People dont understand that Schwinn used to be the top company before they sold out and started making bikes for walmart and target. Schwinn was one of the first big name companies to sell out overseas. Now everyones doing it, Felt, Trek, Specialized, and soon to be Cannondale. The price tag on those bikes still stay the same though.
I refuse to buy any newer production bike. They are all made in China and Tiawan. Homegrowns are made in America, period. Id rather ride an outdated American made Homegrown purchased off ebay for 500 bucks then buy a 2000 dollar bike made in China.
