MemberJust an FYI…. the A2Z adapter works great too and can run some great disk brakes. Magura run nicely. Even the xt and xtr calipers as well.

ParticipantI have one of the A2Z adapters to convert from Hayes to IS mount, can sell that to anyone interested, $30+ship probably reasonable

ParticipantI’d like to test one out on a Trek 8000 with 22mm mount. Let me know when to send the money.

ParticipantCan someone measure the horizontal distance from rear drop out to the most rearward 22mm mount hole? I’d like to confirm this mount design will work for a 2001 Trek 8000, measures 56mm.

tomatoadminKeymasterIt should be identical, as they were both using the Hayes “standard.”
That said, nothing is ever standard in the bike industry. I don’t have a frame with that mount so can’t measure mine, but here’s a CAD model from one of the engineers. The dx value is the perpendicular distance, which is what I assume you were trying to measure.

ParticipantWonderful. Thank you.
I found a local fabricator to make one for $60 or two for $80, aluminum.
Can you please share design to accelerate my project?

tomatoadminKeymasterI don’t have any design-Eric has one but he’s been selling the adapters, not his design.
I’d also be a bit concerned about any machinist that’s quoting you pricing for this if you haven’t shown them a concrete design.February 5, 2021 at 10:57 pm #6056Adroit Rider
ParticipantAgree. I sent him a 3D drawing from a similar thread on MTBR.
The design Eric has differs a bit from the one on MTBR and it is the offset (distance from axle center) of the flat mount holes in the adapter. At least it appears that way from drawings.

MemberSo sorry for the shipping delay Mike. I just PM’d you with a hopeful resolution for the delay in shipping. Trying to let the world know here that I was 1 week in delay in shipping because I lost my inventory, but just found them again. Nobody’s problem but my own. Probably a great reason I work for a company instead of myself. LOL

MemberI now have 0 adapters remaining. I’ll get some more made, but it will be a few weeks before these become available again.

The red A2Z adapter pictured above will not allow you to use Shimano calipers. I have tried the ISO XTR calipers and every other caliper with the basic front adapter blocks. The only calipers that work on the Homegrown’s with an A2Z adapter are older Magura ISO calipers and Hope Mono Mini’s and they need to be the front specific to run a 160mm rotor on the rear.

ParticipantHi,bikeric.

MemberThese have been shown to fit on Rocket-88, hardtail Homegrown’s and Independent Fabrications. I have a question for the buyers of this adapter. Has anybody tried to fit one on a Sweet Spot frame? Mr. Pivotless himself is asking me and I don’t have an answer to give him. If a previous buyer can chime in that would be great. Thanks for your help!!

ParticipantThis is why I was asking about the measurement from center of axle. My rough caliper measurement had something 55-57mm. Some shared the drawing that the Hayes standard is based off a 55mm span from the center axle to the first 22mm mounting hole. I think that if the frame’s mounting hole is 55ish mm from the axle center it will work.
I will test mine on a 2001 Trek 8000 very shortly.
