It was funny seeing your drawings for the Adroit adapter.  When I first started the development of this adapter it was for a gravel bike using a 140mm rotor because that was the standard.  I discovered that I was not able to mount the caliper and use a 140mm rotor *on Homegrown frames* due to frame interference with the caliper.  I seriously doubt the “Adroit” frame was designed for 180mm rotors, so the design you showed would not work for 160mm rotors at all.

The white concept on the right was my atempt to fit a 140mm rotor but the caliper had clearance issues.  The grey concept on the left was required for a 160mm rotor with no clearance issues.

You can see the Homegrown/Schwinn measurement for the Hayes mount is 55mm~ish from the axle to the center of the first bolt hole.  You purchased the proper adapter to run a 160mm rotor by my calculations on an Adroit frame.

Let me and the Bonus Tomato community know how your fit works.  Thanks,

Look at you, showing off your 3D printing and digital calipers.

Some of us have to remember how to use our Granddad’s vernier calipers every time we go to use them…

Great design. I plan to use a non-shimano flat mount caliper. As far as I can tell, the bolt spacing on flat mount caIipers is universal. So I am hoping your adapter will work. I would like one once they are available again. I PM’d you yesterday, but I am not sure if it went through.

Installed and working. I had to file off some powder coat to get the front of the adapter to lay flat. I also may need to file the front mounting slot to allow better alignment/centering of the  caliper. The front of the caliper needs to be farther outboard.

I considered making an adapter like this when flat mount was first introduced, but I did not have the Hayes 22mm specifications. A less expensive version of this adapter could be manufactured by laser or waterjet cutting. I can get a quote if anyone is interested.

Adroit Rider, I have found that XTR caliper mounting bolts have a smaller diameter head then what you are using.  The smaller 4mm socket head allows for more side-to-side alignment ability than those monster bolts you’re using.

Could you post a link to the thread on MTBR? I was unable to find it using their search function.

Thank you. That is much easier than filing stainless steel.

OK everybody……I have 4 more adapters coming, but ONLY 2 are available.  The adapters are not in my hands yet, but will be early next week.  These will all be the Stainless Steel version which is smoother and slightly lighter than the nickle plated steel/bronze.  Price went up this year so I need to pass that on, meaning $60 each (includes shipping to USA).  If these sell out, I’ll get another batch ordered again.  These have been more popular than I imagined.  There are now about 16 in the world floating around making 90’s bikes cool again   ðŸ™‚

    Hello,

I am very interested in this item. My hesitation is it would be used on a Homegrown Sweet Spot frame. The angle of the seat stays is much less vertical (allowing VERY little space). It appears as though one member with a Sweet Spot purchased one of the adapters. I am hoping he will please confirm that it worked for him… Or if any body else can confirm that it will work with a Sweet Spot frame I would really appreciate it.

    Cheers,

I can’t confirm if these will work with the Sweet Spot frame.  I too would like to hear back from anyone who has tried it.

Can you share a link to the bolts? Are they M6 1.0 or what is the thread pitch?
