ParticipantCan you share a link to the bolts? Are they M6 1.0 or what is the thread pitch?

Adroit Rider, I have found that XTR caliper mounting bolts have a smaller diameter head then what you are using. The smaller 4mm socket head allows for more side-to-side alignment ability than those monster bolts you’re using.

Thank you. That is much easier than filing stainless steel.
Here is the link to the MTBR thread:

ParticipantInstalled and working. I had to file off some powder coat to get the front of the adapter to lay flat. I also may need to file the front mounting slot to allow better alignment/centering of the caliper. The front of the caliper needs to be farther outboard.

ParticipantThis is why I was asking about the measurement from center of axle. My rough caliper measurement had something 55-57mm. Some shared the drawing that the Hayes standard is based off a 55mm span from the center axle to the first 22mm mounting hole. I think that if the frame’s mounting hole is 55ish mm from the axle center it will work.
I will test mine on a 2001 Trek 8000 very shortly.

ParticipantAgree. I sent him a 3D drawing from a similar thread on MTBR.
The design Eric has differs a bit from the one on MTBR and it is the offset (distance from axle center) of the flat mount holes in the adapter. At least it appears that way from drawings.

ParticipantWonderful. Thank you.
I found a local fabricator to make one for $60 or two for $80, aluminum.
Can you please share design to accelerate my project?

ParticipantCan someone measure the horizontal distance from rear drop out to the most rearward 22mm mount hole? I’d like to confirm this mount design will work for a 2001 Trek 8000, measures 56mm.

ParticipantI’d like to test one out on a Trek 8000 with 22mm mount. Let me know when to send the money.
