MemberI’m not sure, but that’s what year frame it is from. Just looking at the model indentifier, I only see it on the 2000 models.

MemberWhen off the saddle you are essentially standing on the URT, so only about ¼ of your weight is transferred to the rear suspension. I don’t think there is very much pogoing when climbing either, but I have mine setup really stiff…Seeing this build come together makes me want to do a disk brake conversion on my HGFS and bring it out of retirement.

MemberLooks great. I like the cable routing on the top tube. On my 99 the cables run down the underside of the downtube and under the pivot. Gets full of mud that flings off the front tire and requires alot of maintenance. Is that a 19 inch frame?

MemberI’d love to see a photo of the blue when it comes in.

MemberI got black, thought about blue or pewter. They have alot of cool caps so I may get another.

MemberSo I cleaned it up today and I noticed a couple of things. There are a couple of teeth broken off the middle chainring in the front and one of the chainwheels on the rear derailleur is cracked. I have some photos of that . Also I thought of more differences between the HG and the S series. The chainstays near the bottom bracket and the dropouts are machined on the HG and not on the S-20.

MemberThe Homegrown is 6061 aluminum and the S models are 7005 If I remember correctly. IMO the welds are far superior on the homegrown models.I had an S-20 back in the day. I would assume the geometry is the same, including pivot hardware but I’m not 100% on that.

MemberBTW, I’m 6’2” so you might have to cut an inch or two off that Thompson seatpost. The only damage is to the seat when I went over backwards on concrete. I can post a photo of it, hopefully i can make it a little smaller lol.

MemberThis bike feels small and fast, at 5’10’ it should fit you fine. It looks tiny next to my 29er. It’s a 99 w/ a 98 rear shock. All XT 9 speed, XTR rear derailleur, and LX hubs w Sun Ryno Lite rims. Wheels have maybe 40-50 miles on them. I have had the bike since new. PM reply sent.

MemberI have a 19” that I have been thinking of letting go. It doesn’t have a rear disk mount and the rear shock is a Rock Shox Coupe Deluxe I believe. You looking for a 17?
