MemberCongrats on the frame.
Yeah, the tomato on the dropout is pretty cool.

MemberDefinitely a good deal.
And, yes it is a real Yeti made bike (I have a 99′ black/gold Factory Team).

MemberYou may want to post the link to the listing on Craigslist.

MemberI’d say it’s worth around $1,750…depending on actual condition of bike.

MemberI saw that one too…I’d say it’s a repaint.

MemberI think this one will be around for quite a while….

MemberI followed both of those sales and was surprised by the outcome for each one. The 99 Elite went for quite a bit more than I guessed and the 98 Factory went quite a bit lower than I would have guessed. There is no way I would let my 99 Factory Team go for $685…but that’s just me.
I first caught the Homegrown bug a few years back when I saw a nice 98 Bassboat Blue Homegrown for sale on my local Craigslist but it had already sold by the time I contacted the seller…I still love the bassboat paintjobs especially the blue/silver.
I think I’m just going to hang on to my bike and appreciate what I have…which is a truly awesome bike. After all this talk I have actually started to ride & appreciate this bike all over again.
Thanks,

MemberThanks for the replies.
I am the second owner (bought it off craigslist two years ago) and had big plans to get back into riding…then came kid #2 and a new job. I really like the bike and am not sure I am actually going to sell but also don’t want to damage a classic bike like this one if it’s worth a decent amount of money. The bike has no dents or dings and only a few scratches. It shifts fine, front fork works fine and wheels are nice and true (I had my local bike shop tune up the bike and fix anything that was wrong with it when I bought it…nothing was wrong with it and they commented at the time that it looked almost brand new to them).
Again, at this point in time I am just trying to find the monetary value IF I decide to sell.
For pricing reference here is a 1999 Schwinn Homegrown Elite that just went for $850 plus shipping on Ebay (MSRP on that bike in 1999 was around $1600) http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-Schwinn-Homegrown_W0QQitemZ170399155489QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMountain_Bikes?hash=item27ac94c521
The 1999 Schwinn Homegrown Factory Team bikes were around $3,800.
