I bought an N’litened badge and a few Epicenter decals. So happy to finally snag these rare gems!

neo_pop_71MemberI can’t add much to all that John has contributed but I can tell you that that is an original V1 Octalink (version 1 not version 2) M952 XTR bottom bracket. As a team frame it would seem logical that that frame would have had a XTR group unless the racer preferred something else specific to taste. Cool bike, good luck with the relisting!

Welcome! I’m in the process of building my first Homegrown (a 2000 Pro), it took me a long time to find one that wasn’t beat up or cost a small fortune. I would hold off on making the sale until the tires arrive and you have gotten a couple rides logged. Your buddy knows what you have and the reputation that comes with these Homegrowns. He can wait a little longer so you can be sure about interest in making the sale. Me, I’ll never sell mine… it’s a keeper! Good luck and have fun enjoying the bike! Peace, -D-
neo_pop_71MemberHey taco69- I have a red stem cap that I would trade for black stem cap. If you can locate a black one in nice shape I’ll gladly swap with you. Thanks! -D- [quote=taco69]
Been trying to find a red top cap. Even thou my bike has the icbm headset

neo_pop_71MemberCan someone tell me if these are authentic Homegrown skewers, I’ve only seen skewers with the tomato logo. I’m late to the party when it comes to these great bikes but I haven’t seen a skewer with the name spelled out. Is 24 bucks a good price? Opinions? Thanks!
neo_pop_71MemberThat is one tasty looking Homegrown! I don’t think I could wait ’til April or May to ride that gem!
neo_pop_71MemberLivernose knows his Homegrowns! Way to bring clarity to puzzling question. Nice bike, look forward to seeing it built up! Peace, -D-[quote=john]
Livernose is right; I mistakenly posted the 2001 catalog picture instead of the 2000.

neo_pop_71MemberHello roddog- I did some checking of the ’99 catalog and cross referenced it against the frame builders. I was right, your Homegrown is a ’99 Homegrown that was made by Anodizing Inc. The bike matches the catalog details with LX components and a Judy fork. I have a 2000 Homegrown Pro that I’m building, Anodizing Inc. made my frame. Good luck!
neo_pop_71MemberHey roddog- I have just enough info to be dangerous so by no means am I an expert. As I understand it there were only 5 models that Yeti made in black. The Yeti made frames with the same decals and badges only came in black with gold accent and XTR components. As that bike in the photo you provided doesn’t match, I’d have to say no. Hopefully someone with more knowledge, like livernose, will respond with a solid answer for you. Either way it’s a great bike that I’m sure be pleased to own. Peace, -D-
neo_pop_71Member…NOS ICBM headset, and a red Tomato stem cap. I’m really fond of the Satin Black 2000 Factory Homegrown, I might open my wallet and get the frame media blasted and powder coated Satin Black and then apply the decals and build it up. The thing is I’m getting impatient, I want to ride it! Time will tell…

If you paid $30 for that orange frame, you stole it.

I got it from a rich 20 something year old who lived by the beach. He said it was his brother, he wasn’t a mountain biker, he was into BMX racing. He wanted new BMX platform pedals and they were going to cost 35 bucks, that’s where the magic number came from. I knew it was a killer but it needed everything, the only original part was the Tomato seat post collar. Since then I’ve managed to get some Velocals decals (thanks livernose), the tubing decal, a NOS ICBM
neo_pop_71MemberI’m interested, details please. Thanks!
neo_pop_71MemberLivernose is dead on about those Velocals 2000 Homegrown decals. I bought a set (from livernose) and they look great! Thanks again buddy for the decals and the help, I appreciate it in a big way! Cheers
neo_pop_71MemberFinal price for the red 2000 Homegrown I inquired about… 80 bucks with 50 bucks shipping. What do you think, good price or not? Almost 100 bucks more than I paid for my orange 2000 Pro, so I have no reference. What did you guys pay for your second hand Homegrown? Thanks!
