MemberSo my take on this is based on my own experiences with the BB coating. The Grey under-coating is really the item that you want to preserve. The Blue/Red/Orange/Green are flaked paints, but if you have the Grey, the gray is really where the color pops out. I read a while back about someone creating a nail-polish color that would yield the correct BB Blue for the 1998-1999 models that used BB blue paint.
I cannot attest to the orange, but the Red was the same way… if the Red or Blue paint flaked off, you could use a “faded” paint color that would not completley cover up the grey paint. Hence the nail polish paint.
Frame will be fine, it’s aluminum, so no damage will happen unless you get down to the frame completely and then oxidation can occur, some pitting, etc. If you are concerned, use a clear coat to preserve what is left of your paint.

MemberSo i had a YETI frame from the same year, full XTR. This one that was posted is in way better condition, and might have to swap out a few things. Otherwise, loving the condition and FULL XT.
Thanks buddy!

Two more HG’s up for Auction now on Ebay:

MemberThere were a few models that offered this, but mostly if the rear triangle was a replacement. I have seen two different frames with this exact setup. I even sold them both. One was factory, but the other was a replacement rear. So if you dont have it, you can try and get creative with welding. Else I suspect you will need to try and find a new rear for it with disk tabs.

MemberI have a few… PM what exactly you are looking for, and I think that we can talk.

MemberSeriously… this is killing me. Why such a long auction? Who’s the guy with the highest bid? Not me….

MemberCome on… someone has to have a BB gree sitting around? Anyone?
Here are some flikr photos… the basic configurations have changed on these. I bought new XTR wheels to put on the BB Blue one, this way it is completely full on XTR – 8 speed though.

The Red I switched out the headset and the fork for the BB Blue. That way, the blue comes in at around 21-22 lbs. The BB red is sitting around 24 lbs, and the black is like 27 with that fork on it.

Memberthat’s just mean…. 🙂 It looks like it is in amazing shape, and is a 17″, which is what I want. I have a BB blue that would absolutely part out to swap and put on this bad-boy. When are you going to put it up?
