MemberJust an FYI…. the A2Z adapter works great too and can run some great disk brakes. Magura run nicely. Even the xt and xtr calipers as well.

MemberI can attest the fact that flat mount will work with Shimano. It’s easy enough to run a hose to a mtn master cylinder, vs a road. The stoke should be the same and same amount of fluid push thru.
I tried a TRP cable actuated flat caliper and it just didn’t give me enough braking stoppage. So opting for the shimano road stuff instead.

MemberJaiboro – Can you verify the size of this? Measure from the center of the Bottom Bracket bolt to the top of the seat tube. It’ll be either 15″ or 17″….
If a 15″ a little less desireable, maybe in the 3-350 range. If a 17″ it’ll get you up to about $4-450, depending on other factors.
Thanks,

MemberMy BBB 1998 factory flakes any time it gets a scratch. The seat coller has shreaded the blue paint, but not thru the grey undercoat. My stickers are pretty much shot too, which sucks.

MemberBTW, are you sure it’s a 17″? I just realized that I bought two HG’s last year that are both a 19″ and am wondering how I missed that. I think the people I bought them from thought they were 17″ and mis-listed them.

MemberSchwinn had a few 24″ racers, I bought one as a college cruiser back in 2001/2002. It was a supersport I think, not a HG though. I worked at a schwinn shop and didn’t ever see a HG racer. However, it doesn’t mean that they weren’t built in a limited batch. It is possible they were regular 24″ racers that someone decided needed to be colored the same as the regular HG’s. A lot of people seem to think that the carbon frames from 1997-2000 were HG’s as well, like the S-60’s, but they were not. It is possible this was the same deal.

MemberI’d say $150 for the frame, another $70-80 for the wheel set, and maybe $75 for the fork and brakes, $40 for the saddle. So I’d list this for $300-350. Not much more than that, unless the cranks/stem/seat post are all awesome stuff. Possibly $400 max.
Hope this helps…

Membertopcap on ebay right now… $15, but shipping is rediculous. Guy wants $8 to ship a piece of aluminum that weighs about 25grams.

MemberI bought one like that a year ago with full XTR and Titanium seat post, saddle, and handlebar, with a SID form, and XTR wheels for $700. Anything less than ALL XTR or ti mixtures on this bike and you are looking at 3-400 price range. Add in a few nice component to make it work their while and you could bump it up to 4-500 max. The problem is that its now a 14-15 year old bike an wheel set. The technology has changed sooo much since the 90’s, with Carbon and Ti compunds getting a lot of attention, and the big push for 29’s as well. Only the purest’s will still buy old frams and pound the trails with them.
Any pictures you can load? What size?
