MemberJust the one with the repaint. Keeping the other one for now.

MemberI’ll throw in the post and headset for free. Also probably a front derailleur – they require top pull bottom swing.
I have a bunch of other stuff i can toss in for cheap as well, if desired.grambo

MemberMine, as well as most others I have seen, has a round Schwinn Quality badge.
This is also supported by the scanned flyer on Mombat.

MemberInterested in some project underground decals if that ever becomes an option.
grambo
MemberAh, yes, I have a few bottles of “Sinful Colors” nail polish stashed away. Pretty much a perfect match, but I don’t think they make it any more.
grambo
MemberHmm… thanks for the tip, I’ll give that a try.

MemberI know this is 6 months old now, but I do still have the project underground shown above, and would be open to selling it, in part or nearly whole (I borrowed a couple of parts off of it).
Send me a PM, or email me at curkendall at yahoo dot com.

MemberOne of the biggest problems is that the bass boat blue paint adheres poorly to the frame. A small bump or scrape is more than enough to take a chip out of the paint – hence the large missing patches on this one. (I’m guessing that this is also the reason for the stickers all over this frame.
I was fortunate that my first bike’s previous owner clearcoated the frame early on, so it takes a little more to chip the paint.

MemberIt is a bit of an old wives tale about all aluminum frames having a short lifespan.
It started with some of the first aluminum frames, which had lightweight, small diameter tubes. In some cases, the tubes would flex too much and the metal would fatigue, leading to cracks and/or breakage. In some bonded aluminum lug frames, poor adhesives would fail and tubes would come unbonded from lugs.
Modern adhesives have solved the bonding issue, and maufacturers have solved the fatigue issue with larger tube diameters which stiffen the frame substantially (which in turn led to Aluminum’s reputation for harshness).

MemberYeah… I can’t figure out the market these days. I see Altek and Kooka v-brake levers going for $200/pair on ebay, while my buddy’s Y-33 with full XTR and magura racelines only went for $550 or so.
The 4-banger is a 19″ black ’99 regular model (not homegrown). I guess I’ll take some better photos and post them.
