KeymasterIt was meant to be!
I would tend to doubt it came with it originally but total guess on my part. They were pretty stingy with the tomatoes except on the last Fastbacks.john
Keymaster*shok*
Pretty amazing collection just in that picture. Is that a 17″ black/red dart frame in the back?!
john
KeymasterMy best source left in ’99 so didn’t have any added info; just that it did seem almost certain to be a Yeti painted like a 2001 Fastback, for whatever reason. Sorry I don’t have anything better for you.

KeymasterIf you’re a nerd into ASCII symbols you can get it via either ALT+0162 or ALT+155. 😀
john
KeymasterAnything is possible, especially with the way some of the things were going back then. Seems odd that it would have been a 2+ year old frame though. I’ll see if I can get any more info on it.

KeymasterLike Moby said, awesome info, runzoff. When I didn’t have luck contacting John it was by email only so if anyone has that problem in the future you might try doing it the old-fashioned way.
I’m going to have to sticky this or add the info to the FAQ.
Thanks again for the follow-up, runzoff.john
KeymasterI don’t have anything to add but I’m excited that you added the cents symbol. That’s all. :clapping:

KeymasterAin’t nuthin’.
Forgot to mention the external headset cups and forgings originally too.
john
KeymasterBased on top tube cable routing and no rear canti cable stop, it looks like it’s either a ’98 Factory XT or ’99 Factory XT or XTR painted to look like a 2001 Schwinn.
EDIT: also because it’s external headset and the forged dropouts and chainstay yoke are typical of these years.
Go here, and click on Yeti to see them.
Good news is that it’s a Yeti frame. Unfortunate that it was painted though.
john
KeymasterYeah, I wish my XTR cranks were in that kind of shape.
john
KeymasterNice. Funny thing is all the interesting search results you get when you Google various Homegrown things…
john
KeymasterSweet. How do you like the ride with the 650b setup? Have you done that with a HG before?
john
KeymasterLooks pretty sweet, Moby. Good to see you back here,
Cool shirt, too.
john
KeymasterThat’s pretty cool. I had contacted him a long time ago about this stuff but never got a response.
