Looks like a real one to me. My daughter has the same frame. 2001 Homegrown Pro, the only year that IS brake tabs were installed on the seat stays so you can use disc brakes pretty easily. Take a look at the Homegrown models tab at the top of the page to find this bike with a list of the original components. I attached a picture of my daughter’s bike with the velocals decals installed. You would have to make sure you order black letters with dark gray shading if you want them like the originals. Kinda pricey but worth it. http://www.velocals.com/schwinn-pro-homegrown-sku-481/

You can sand down that chainstay yoke and tape and spray paint it with a close color and it’ll look better. I would take the whole frame in the auto Parts store and use it to compare to the spray touch up paints they have. Tape it with painter’s tape at the welds, spray it and immediately remove the tape. Let it dry a few days and then polish the whole frame with Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 (available at auto parts store, used to remove scratches in clear coat) to remove all the small imperfections in the finish and the lines from where you taped the chainstay yoke, followed by a good wax. If you think you need a second and third coat of paint make sure you tape it and remove the tape each time. That helps the paint lay down at the seam a little better. You’ll be surprised at the result. Maybe even replace those cracked decals. BTW, don’t go over the decals with the Meguiars Scratch X.

It’s a 2000. The 2001 has a disc brake mount on the seat stay. The decals are all dry and cracked, but Velocals sells 2000 Homegrown decals that are pretty darn close to original.
I bought this fork from a guy that had it on a 98 HG Pro. He raced the bike for a few years and then it sat. I probably paid a little too much for the fork considering it needed servicing, but I couldn’t get over how good it looked.
OK, I remember that bike. Did I sell you the frame decals? The decals I am sending are correct for the year 04-06 RS SID I believe. They should look good on that fork. I have a blue 98/99 SID I am getting ready to service. Just wondering if that fork was originally blue.
The Rock Shox and SID script are mounted on the card to apply at the same time so the spacing is the same between fork legs.
