Those are getting hard to find. I would advise getting a 2001 because of the seat stay disc brake mounts. I looked for 2 years before I found an NOS Limited frame, but they are out there and they’re not cheap. I just assembled all the parts for the build and will start next week. The Limited bikes/frames pop up on this site sometimes, as well as a popular auction site. Good luck in your search. I tried to attach a photo but it won’t upload.
Just finished a build for my son. 01 ano black Factory Homegrown. Went 650b wheels. Another plus of the 01 frame.
I follow that site although I haven’t bought anything from anybody on there. I missed Norm Hansen HG guy posts.
But it would be nice to have some made up that are titanium. I would have some made up but I don’t have any connections.
I believe Alex Hearn, a Homegrown aficionado, had them made up. I bought 4 sets and they are pretty cool. I had some of the other skewers with just the tomato on them and put them on a bike I gave to my brother. I like these better than the older ones.
Wow, I’ve never seen a top cap go for that much. Makes me wonder what the NOS black one I have still in the original packaging would go for.
I am watching them right now. Do you have anything else with a tomato on it you might want to sell? Like a seat post clamp?
They work fine as long as you can find one with a straight steerer tube and also whether it has brake studs or disc brake only depending on what you want. I personally like Rockshox SIDs because they are light and easy to service. My son has a Fox RL100 he loves. The newer ones actually work much better in my opinion.
