I will confirm tonight what P/N my Shimano caliper is, and post tomorrow. At quick glance it looks like the model I’m using has a lower bleed nipple then your 105. I apologize for causing you to go through multiple caliper options. I had no idea Shimano’s different models would vary so much.
My only guess is that you did not remove the Shimano adapter piece that came on the caliper? You need to use the screws that come with the stock adapter and caliper, but use my adapter directly with the caliper. I am also assuming you are not talking about a Sweet Spot frame? I have not have confirmation on fitment to those frames yet.
Please post up a picture if possible.
It looks like a sweet bike. I could see getting it for my daughter, but I’m in Oklahoma. Are you in Vermont? Have much experience boxing bikes?

Englund Air used to make cartidge kits for the old Judy’s that replaced both the elastomers and the dampener. Good luck finding a set, but they are still out there. I actually think the 99 Judy might have had a coil spring kit already, so maybe your dampener is bad? Removing the bottom bolts and pulling the legs should be fairly straight forward if you want to clean and lube them. It makes checking the dampener easier too.
Manitou makes/made a Markhor fork that was for 26″ wheels and had a straight 1 1/8″ steer tube. ~$275. I think they are disc only though. You can still find good Fox F80, F100’s or Marzocchi Z2’s on eBay. I’ve even got a SID sitting on the shelf for my next build 🙂

In summary, the A2Z adapter will require you to use a Front IS caliper in the rear for a 160mm rotor. It rarely has clearance for the post mount adapter style calipers.
My adapter is used to only mount flat road style calipers that are popular with gravel and CX bikes. There are various brands of these road calipers, and you must use the proper branded lever to make it all work. I like Shimano so I use Shimano MTB levers with Shimano calipers. Message me if you want to buy one.

I can’t confirm if these will work with the Sweet Spot frame. I too would like to hear back from anyone who has tried it.
OK everybody……I have 4 more adapters coming, but ONLY 2 are available. The adapters are not in my hands yet, but will be early next week. These will all be the Stainless Steel version which is smoother and slightly lighter than the nickle plated steel/bronze. Price went up this year so I need to pass that on, meaning $60 each (includes shipping to USA). If these sell out, I’ll get another batch ordered again. These have been more popular than I imagined. There are now about 16 in the world floating around making 90’s bikes cool again 🙂
