Update:  I pretty much ruined the glitter paint job when I applied the Candy Coat to darken it.  Now it just looks like a lumpy paint job. crying  I need to start over by stripping the paint off and get it back to bare metal.  I haven’t found the motivation to do so just yet.  I will be trying a differnt paint method next time, but it will definitaly start with a black base coat.  I plan to continue updating so maybe others can learn from my mistakes on this.

I’ll take that 17″ off your hands.  I’m located in Tulsa, OK. and would probably need it shipped depending on your location.  Send me a PM with your price.

Great looking bike.  Back in the day I would have thrown a rigid fork, high rise stem and Magura brakes on it to make a stock trials bike.

What part of the country is the bike located? I’m curious about shipping options.

There will be a few coats of clear applied after decals.  Not necessarily to make it 100% smooth.  I had an original Bass Boat Blue Factory hardtail back in the day and its’ paint was not smooth to the touch like the 1998 and later versions.

After 4 coats of glitter I was still seeing excessive amounts of Turquoise for my liking.  The paint supply store convinced me to apply a light coat of candy (I chose china blue).  This did darken the frame to something more along the lines of what I originally wanted.  I really regret not using a black base.

I applied 1 coat of candy and got the results you see on the last pic.  I need to flip the frame over so I can get the tube bottoms as well.  The candy has toned down the sparkle, so I think I will put more glitter on top of the candy to bring the sparkle back.

Oh well, I’m having fun with the painting, but it’s getting expensive doing so much trial and error.  I have another frame (Lynskey Ridgline Ti) that I think I will try and paint the front half in a bass boat fashion.  I still have the gold and green flakes……

These are nice and exactly what my frame came with, but I’m going away from this look.  If I was doing a two-tone color these would be IT.

I have these, but they are more for the stock 98-99 frames (which mine is) but the new paint scheme is more relatable to the original downtube decals.

This is the set I was imagining.  I would remove the “Factory” for my bike beacuse I don’t want to falsify the frame any more than the color change.

Thanks for the input on Velocals.  I think I’ll get a set (or 2).

Painting update:  Only able to apply a third coat because the stars didn’t align for me this week.  I did purchase more glitter because I know I will need it.  I wish I had weighed the bare frame so I could calculate how much the paint job added to it.  The paint shop recommended I focus my spray with a smaller “fan” as it comes out of the gun.  He said I’m probably wasting too much product.

This message reads like my week has gone.  Only time for quick bullet points then move on to the next fire storm.

Nice knobs.  I could print them for you for free as a one-off, (resale quantities however, would cost money for time/supplies), but I have limited color options.  Pretty much gray or white.

I use SolidWorks at work, but can export it to whatever File type someone wishes.  STEP, DWG, SLDPRT, etc.

I’ve even considered 3D printing a solid version (no honeycomb internally) and seeing if it would last.  I wish we had purchased a 3D metal printer last year.

I just found the website below that has some cool looking decal options.  Anybody ever buy from them?
