Yes, I’ve read somewhere that the blue ones are for the Carbon frames only. Aluminum frames use Beige, which are harder to find.

If you are really after some, contact John Castellano. He can get you some, as he designed the bike. Tell him exactly what bike you have, and what parts you need.

Looks like a 2000 to me too. 2000 models had a smaller badge on the seat tube, 01 models had the large badge that says “N’lightened” Of course I’m sure there are always exceptions. Same frame either way.

That would be a 1999 Homegrown. Just ‘Homegrown’, nothing else. It was the cheapest offering for 99. The ‘6061’ refers to the type of Aluminum it was built with. Yeti built bikes were made with 7005 aluminum, so no, yours is not Yeti made. It was made by Control Tech.

Even though it was the lowest offering for the 99 line, it’s frame is the same as all the other Control Tech built hardtails, only the paint and components are different. They’re unique in that of all the 98/99 style Homegrowns, they’re the only one to have non-bassboat paint.

    Here are some specs: http://www.bonustomato.com/?q=node/354

I’d say $600 is a pretty good deal for any Homegrown. Looks like it’s got a bunch of nice components. Ride the heck outta it! Cool

I’d really like to know what shops are restoring these Homegrown frames, that individuals can’t get the decals.

I’m working on getting some reproductions made out of some stickers that I have. I almost have enough to do a complete 98/99 HG. It’s just a matter time. And I’m not quite ready to put up the money yet. The place that can print them for me isn’t going to be cheap, and it will have to be a large quantity / minimum order too.

I have a Homegrown sticker for the top bar on 96/97 bikes, but not the ‘Factory’ word. I’ll eventually do some playing around with photoshop and see if I can get one of those made too.

I offered a little less than 100 the first time they were up. They were worth it to me, because I will use them to reproduce more, and I thought they were the only set I’d ever see. But once I saw that they have more, the value goes down in my opinion. Supply and demand. Now that there’s more supply, they aren’t worth as much. I may offer to buy another set, but for way less than 100.

Now the grips, they’re smoking crack.

Krylon Krystal Clear in a can- I’ll look that stuff up.

I guess my question was what type can I use, laquer, acrylic, enamel? I know some types don’t work with others, but I don’t know much about any of them. I don’t want to shoot clear all over a frame and have all the paint fall off the next time I look at it.

I almost bid on those. Glad I didn’t now. You got a good deal. Usually people fight over those and jack up the price.

Here she is. Not that bad condition. Has some decent components on it too. The SRAM Grip shifters are gonna have to go though.

Did anyone watch the gold and silver 4 Banger frame? Wish I could have afforded that one, it seems those frames are rare.

That looks good. I called my local sticker place, and they said they can only makes stickers from files. The don’t scan or do any sort of graphics design. I have all the stickers except for the downtube, so I’ll be scanning those and getting some quotes from them. I don’t expect them to be cheap, they have a minimum order and it goes by the total footage of the decal material, not quantity.

I may buy some downtube decals from ebay, scan them, and then do some photoshoping to get it close to what was on the Homegrowns. I may also just try taking a picture of the one on my 4 Banger and see how that will turn out, as it’s the same color.

Bike should be here any day now.

    If you’re talking about these:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/9-Set-SCHWINN-10-5-Sticker-Decal-Frame-Bicycles-16J_W0QQitemZ180359961039QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item29fe4a99cf

They’re close, but not an exact match. The decals in the auction measure 10.5″ x 1″, and the decals on a Homegrown measure around 12 1/4″ x 3/4″.

I’m going to try to bring my 4 Banger frame (same decal) to a graphics place and see if they can reproduce it, as it has a silver border too. If they can’t do it I’ll probably end up using those. I’m a stickler for originality.

I should be getting the bike next week!
