livernoseParticipantDid you tap threads for the binder bolt?
livernoseParticipant
The blue one is not a Factory IMO. It was a standard Homegrown repainted some time ago. The seatstays don’t look tapered either. A sure fire answer would be a picture of the weld on the seatstay. Homegrown’s are a single tube fully curved, but Factory frames are 2 seperate tubes (because they are tapered) that get welded together at the top. If its a Factory, the weld beads make a “T” shape with a bead lined up with the tire.
I just checked my 97 Factory and compared it to my son-in-law’s HG. Never noticed that before.
livernoseParticipantBBB one looks like a 97 Factory, except the top tube “S” decal is black stripe like an Underground. Plus a few extra decals and Chicage head badge.
I’ve got a Factory BBB 97 and it has the cable stops on top of the top tube versus on the side like your frame.
livernoseParticipantRich Adams has the set of decals that include this one on Fleabay right now.
livernoseParticipantDid that lead from Bike Eric pan out?
livernoseParticipantFound an NOS pair in Europe of all places.
livernoseParticipantI bought that frame. Spent WAY TOO MUCH, but I wanted one to make a display bike. That post clamp is one exactly like the one on the Project Colorado.
livernoseParticipantI had a mint pair of AT-3’s and sold them last year (for $25). I’m more intersted in the AT-2 bars, but havent been able to find a pair in NOS shape.

livernoseParticipantGood luck with the sale, but if you do end up parting it out I would be interested in the wheels. Got my nephew a black ano 2000 frame that those wheels would look awesome on.
livernoseParticipantNot sure if those are for HG or not, but they may work if the slots fit the holes in the frame. I dug in my tool box and found these. They are slightly different for different chain rings. My 1997, 1999, and 2001 frames have threaded holes in the chainstay yolk for the anti-chain suck plates. They may be on different years, but that’s all the years I have. I thought about putting them on but haven’t had an issue with chain suck.

livernoseParticipantWOW!

livernoseParticipantAlways liked those red Mavic rims. Are those 517? And what hubs are those? STX?
livernoseParticipantThanks for the link. I just bought another Project Underground aluminum frame. Unfortunately I don’t think a 2.10 will fit on the rear. Last 3 frames I had to use 1.95 in the rear. I ran IRC Mythos 1.95 in the rear and 2.10 in front.
Not sure I’m going to even build this frame, and if I do it will be a wall hanger for display, and if I do I might try and squeeze a 2.10 on back. I’ve had 3 other of these frames and rode them all, and unfortunately all 3 cracked at the head tube. I have plenty of other bikes to ride, and I’m not in a hurry to build this one. They’re difficult to find, and besides, my wife still doesn’t know I bought it.
livernoseParticipantI’d like to see the photos. 2.8 is a meaty tire.
