You make an excellent point on the smoothness over the glitter. I might have to do clear layers to get the smoothness under the decals. I’ll see when I get there.
I bought some gold glitter on my lunch break. I’m thinking two-tone green/gold similar to the red/gold Toyota Team combo from 98. I decided against Pearl White since my stickers would be a base white.
Now I’m getting motivated to finish getting the old paint remnants off and into primer.
Stripping the original paint revealed they used a black base coat/primer with silver glitter on top of that. The top clear coat was just tinted to be whatever color they wanted (blue, orange, red, green, gold, etc.).
My plan is to apply a black base and then mix the glitter in clear and apply as many coats as needed to get the sparkle level I like. Next apply decals and multiple clearcoats over that. I have the large “Schwinn” downtube decals and made up some extra “S” decals for cups that I’ll apply 1 to the top tube like the 97/98 BBBlue Factory frames.
I kicked around the idea of 100% Pearl White, but doing the middle section of the seat tube that way would be a nice touch. I was wrong about aready getting the proper blue flake. I was comparing it to the green last night and discovered that the blue I purchased has “holographic” in it that gets rainbow”y” in sunlight.
Consider them yours.
FYI, you would be the first to get these besides myself and my Dad.

I think you will like them, but I would want to get your opinion posted here to let others know your opinion of the quality of these. Then we can talk about what color combos/cup size/cup brand (YETI?) you want in the future. Sound good?

I believe the Carbon front main frame would be the same as the Carbon Homegrown All Mountain models. Only the rear triangle would be the lower tier S style. The Carbon framed versions had slightly slacker headtube angles and were designed for 100mm forks, hence the “All Mountain” designation.
The levers are RS505 which are 2×11. They were the cheapest I was able to find at the time of the build. I paid $100 for the used pair without calipers. The rear caliper was cheap IMO at $35 and I had the hose and front caliper, so not an issue there. I haven’t got to ride it yet due to work and freezing weather.
FYI, HG-4EVR did sell me the 19″ frame/fork and it worked out fabulously.
He’s a good and honest seller.
The 19″ frame is the same one I converted to 700c.
I see you’ve already gone the route of internal cable routing, so this won’t apply to you.
Solution I’ve found on a Factory frame with drive-side cable stops is using an Avid Black Ops rear v-brake. You can choose which side to use the noodle on them. Makes for a really slick and straight housing route.
19” frame, yes. I usually ride 17” frames for mountain, but the 19” is a better size for me as a road/gravel bike.
The ugly post and seat were just what I threw on for the bike shops clamp holder to grip. I’ve goth both a thudbuster and/or USE SX suspension post for it. I’ve already re-routed the rear brake hose below the downtube for a cleaner look.

You NEED an Avid SAAGO stem to solve your short steer tube problem. Lengths and rise are minimal choices but there are 3 on eBay right now. The collet grips the steer tube and doesn’t need much length at all.

Do both frames have the Hayes 22mm disc mounts?

I’ve got a nice 2000 model Marzocchi Z2 Atom 80. It is a coil/oil fork with an ECC cartridge that locks the fork in the “down” position when climbing. It has black lowers with a polished aluminum M arch and crown. Standard I.S. disc mount and v-brake studs. Newer Enduro fork seals. Any interest?

It looks like the same fork, headset and lizardskin. I didn’t sell my frame with the XTR as you see in the above linked photo. Plus I think I did sell it with a funky blue or purple Specialed stem??? Memory issues. Frame looks great now
